William Swartz

May 13, 1940 ~ August 28, 2020 (age 80)

Some say you can take the farmer off the farm but you can’t take the farm out of the farmer.

Our dad was testament to that. In 2009 mom & dad had to leave the farm due to dad’s failing health.

Dad spent endless hours driving up and down country roads checking out baby calves and crops even though he enjoyed his new home he longed to be on the farm.

Last Friday, August 28th dad felt the need to move to greener pastures to a life free of pain.

2020 has been a crazy time. Our parents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February then covid-19 appeared and our world has been turned upside down. We all learned what we thought mattered doesn't and what we were all too busy for does. FAMILY

My mom lost her husband of 60 years and we lost our friend, our confidant, our father.

Our children lost their grandfather and their children lost their great grandfather & Gaga.

William Clarence Swartz born May 13, 1940 the 8th child of Erdman & Helena Schwartz.

Today he leaves his loving wife Ruby, eldest daughter Helena & Mervin Scilley, 4 lovely daughters Lindsay, Leslie & Gerry, Brittney & Joe, Whitney and 4 beautiful grand children Arianna, Declan, Sadie and Brielle.

His son Kris & Sandy, 2 wonderful children Katelyn & Kolan and a beautiful great granddaughter Lenyxx.

His daughter Theresa & Wade Fielden and their two beautiful children Barry & Jolene, Angie & Matthew and 3 more wonderful great grandchildren Adellyn, Luke and Brady.

Dad was a young grandfather, he loved his grandchildren, as the years went on he became an amazing great grandfather & Gaga, he will be deeply missed by these special little people.

Our lives will be forever changed. Dad also leaves many friends & family members who he loves dearly.

Special thanks to his sister Elsie who made time for him, he loved you.

Dad we love you so much and will miss you everyday and into infinity.

Special thanks to the 911 Operator, Paramedics, Stony Plain Fire Department, RCMP, Victim Services, Neighbors of Folkstone Place and Town and Country Funeral Services. Special thanks Lori Youngman aka Pastor Lori.

Special thanks to Dr. Ross Dunbar, thank you for taking the time and treating my dad with respect & dignity.

Due to covid-19 we are having an invitation only celebration of life at the home farm. We would love to honor my dad with a drive by tribute as he loved you all.
