Ruth Moore Obituary

Ruth Anne Moore 79, of Evansburg Alberta passed away with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Dave and Irene (Foster) Quinlan on June 16 1943 in Peterborough Ontario where she lived until she moved to Toronto as a teen to attend hairdressing/beautician school. She moved to Calgary in the late 70s where she resided until 2017 when she moved to Evansburg where she lived out her final years making many friends along the way.

Ruth is survived by her children: Jamie (Danny) Blahun of Mayerthorpe, Bill (Kimberly) Marks of Calgary, Natascha (Brent) Stapleton of Huntsville and Jason (Edyta) Moore of Calgary. She is also survived by her 12 precious grandchildren: Stephen, Corey-Jo, Lindsay Rae, Faith, Daniel, Joshua (wife Anita) Christopher, Jessica, Brandon, Alyssa/(Lucy), Lucas and Nathan and 3 great grandchildren: Olivia, Madison and Radek. Also survived by her sister Dolly.

She was predeceased by her biological father Ronald A Bennewith, her son John Richard Marks and siblings Lyn, Pat, Dave and Dan.

Ruth (or Ruthie as she was often fondly referred to) was best known for her incredible way of working herself into everyone’s heart. She was always so welcoming and pleasant to be around. No matter what she was going through she would always take the time to listen and to share her many life stories with literally anyone. The one word that stands out to us all when we think of her was LOVE. The love she had and happily shared was something we will miss the most. Especially her love for Jesus. Her whole life was a testament to the love and power and faithfulness of God.

She had many trials and sufferings in her life but she always rose up out of the ashes.

She was funny and loved nothing more than to gather her children and laugh until she couldn’t take anymore. It was the joy of her life to be a mother and grandmother. Nothing meant more to her.

And music.

She loved music. Especially jazz. She was a professional singer through the mid/late 60s and music was always such a huge part of her life.

She loved deeply and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

“Be still, and know that I am God”

-psalm 46:10
