Philip Anthony MCKERRY
It is with great sadness that the family of Philip MCKERRY announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016, at the age of 60 years.
Philip will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janet; his son Shawn and his wife Sara; son Tyler; daughter Kimberly and her fiancé Andrew; his grandson Lucas; granddaughter Paxton; his parents Frank and Pat; sister Lynn and her husband John; brother Max and his wife Patricia; sister Mona and her husband Mike; sister Verna; and his nieces and nephews. Philip’s passing was preceded by his mother Irene (DeGear) and siblings Frankie and Linda.
Philip was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police from January 1980 until July 2004 and also served with the British Columbia Dragoons from 1972 until 1980. He was a pillar of the community, spearheading many organizations and serving with countless others. Phil was able to live out his childhood dream of being a photographer during his retirement years and up until his passing.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at Royal Canadian Legion Br. 196 at 4823 50 St, Evansburg, AB. Following the service, all are invited to join in toasting a life well lived and do what our father did best: share great stories.
