Ouita Petty Obituary

It is with sadness, heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that the family of Ouita Petty announces her peaceful passing on October 29, 2023 at the age of 82 years.  She was a much loved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many.

Ouita was predeceased by her husband, Danny Petty; and her parents, Mal and Terry Davies & Ellen McBurnie (Bill).  She is survived by her brothers Ron McBurnie (Patricia Doyle) and Lorry Davies; her 3 children Cameron Petty, Karyn Soroka (Patrick) and Darlene See (Randy); her grandchildren Jaymie Petty, Tracey Mantey (Trevor), Jaquelene See (Dustin Dufresne), Daniel Petty, Logan Petty (Kennedy Deregt), and Meagan Petty; her great-grandchildren Tony Greatrix, Alex Greatrix, Bruce Smith, Kallie Mantey, Theo Knowles; and her great-great-granddaughter Taliah Gelowitz.

Ouita was born in Calgary in 1941, where she lived until she met and married the love of her life, Danny.  She then moved with him to the Edson area and embraced living in the bush and on the farm.  She loved gardening and became a certified herbalist through correspondence courses.  Ouita wrote 2 children's novels, as well.  Later in life, she also discovered that she was a talented painter.

Please join Ouita's family in a Celebration of her life on December 4 at the Edson Legion at 1:00 p.m. A light lunch will follow the service. Donations can be made in Ouita's name to: EARS Edson Animal Rescue Society Box 7028 Edson AB T7E 1V3.
