Marie Blanche Bruner 1927-2020


On Monday September 7th, 2020 Marie Blanche Bruner , a loving wife, sister and mother of eight children passed away at the age of 93 years. 
Marie was born on June 17/1927 in Edmonton, Alberta. Growing up she lived in various locations in central Alberta and earned a teaching degree from U of C, and U of A. She continued her life as a teacher eventually settling in Evansburg where she met and married Merle. They started a family and she became a housewife and mentor to many. 
Marie had a passion for cross stitching and spent thousands of hours on her much loved artwork and gave it away to friends and family. She enjoyed working on her family tree with various genealogy groups and continued adding to this up to her last entry about four months ago. She also enjoyed baking for her family. She made the best homemade doughnuts in the world. 
Marie was also very active in and around her community. She was a founding member of the Evansburg Museum, was a longtime foster parent, a 4-H club and Cub Scout leader, and also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She proudly received multiple awards for her efforts, talents and time spent. 
She is predeceased by her husband Merle, daughter Lisa, son Kelly, daughter in law Sandy and her brothers Donald and Rayburn. 
She is survived by her brother Ron, sister Margaret, and her six remaining children. Ted(Bea), Zane, Lee(Serena) Jeff(Cathie), Grant(Cathy), daughter Holly( Gary) , 14 grand children and numerous great grand children.
Up until her passing Marie lived at the Good Samaritan Pembina Village Lodge in Evansburg, where she was taken care of by the amazing staff they have. Thank you to all of you that were a part of her life.
