Larry Windels Obituary

Larry Eric Windels

 “Chief”

Born July 09,1962 In Prince Albert Saskatchewan

Passed Away June 27,2020 in Edson Alberta

It is with broken hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Larry on June 27, 2020 in the arms of the Love of his life.

Larry was the strongest, kindest, most genuine soulmate and friend.  He was truly loved and admired by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He fought so hard and pushed through his disease like a hero from day one.  But cancer is a wicked adversary.   Larry never complained or felt self pity, rather he enjoyed life and lived to the fullest.

He worked right up until his regular scheduled days off the week prior to his hospitalization.  Work was a passion of “Chief’s”. He loved his coworkers and treasured the times they had together over the past 30 years in the patch.  A day at work with Chief was a day at play. Always a prankster and moral booster.

He loved to golf,  and went for his last round with his Honey Honey, stepson and grandson the day before he was hospitalized.  Larry never missed a stroke and played his usual awesome game.

Family, friends and living life to the fullest without judging anyone,,,bringing laughter and joy to all those in his vast circle, Will Always be his Legacy.  Chief is a Legend.

Larry is survived by his spouse Barb Madden (Honey honey); His step children, Kurtis Madden of Wildwood Alberta, Kim & (Dennis) Brodersen of Edson Alberta, Kara Madden of Edson Alberta. “Papa Chief” will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved Grandchildren, Hailey Madden, Dawson Madden, Kyra Brodersen, Denelle Brodersen, Chance Brodersen, Kenadi Madden; 2 great grand daughters Willow and Avana Madden and 1 step grand daughter, Nakita Danyluk.

Sisters Doreen & (Dennis) George, Loretta & (Jake) Weibe, Lois & (Ernie) Cameron, Joan & (Albert) Lemauviel; Brothers Ivan & (Sharon Parenteau) Windels and Don & (Kathy) Windels all from Saskatchewan.

And numerous nephews and nieces, and great nephews and nieces.

Larry was predeceased by his Father Carl Windels and his Mother Maria (Mary) Windels.

As per Larry’s wishes, there will be no funeral.

Larry’s life will be celebrated later this summer at his ”cabin in the woods.“
