Kevin J O'Connell

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Father,
Grandfather and Great Grandfather, with his wife and daughters by his side in
Drayton Valley hospital. Kevin leaves behind wonderful memories with his family.
Moving to Alberta in 2013 Kevin worked as a heavy equipment operator with JMB
Crushing Systems in Bonnyville making new friendships with co-workers.
Before moving to Alberta Kevin lived in Plympton and worked in Digby NS working many
jobs over his life. Kevin was a scallop fisherman before his move to Alberta, he
worked on several of the Digby scallop fleets ending his fishing career with the
Royal Fundy under Captain and friend Donnie Ross.
Married for 35 years Kevin leaves behind his loving wife Janet (Amero), daughter Amy
& Dean (Deveau), Granddaughters Marly, Morgan, Macy, Great Grandson Rylan, daughter
Tammy & Scott (Blades) and Grandson Michael.
Kevin also leaves behind a special brother Charlie (Betty) who we thank for Kevin's
last 24 years following a bone marrow transplant for leukemia in 1992.
Kevin is predeceased by his Mom and Dad Charles and Katherine, sister Sandra and
brother Randy.
We would like to thank Dr. Ali, Dr. Giddey and the staff at the Malone Medical
Clinic in Drayton Valley not only for the care of Kevin but for the love and support
for our daughter Amy while working there.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 7/16 at 6pm at the Town and Country
Funeral home in Evansburg. A funeral will be held in Digby NS at a later date.
