On March 31st, 2017, Jenny Ahlskog passed away gently in her sleep at home, on her farm north of Wildwood. 

Born in Redwater, Alberta, on September 4th, 1930, Jenny was brought to Wildwood as an infant, where she grew up only a few miles from the family farm she would move to upon her marriage at sixteen. Jenny spent the next seventy years there, raising her boys and caring for their babies, baking, gardening and hunting, leading the kind of life to aspire to - one that leaves behind a crowd of loving friends and family, and a lifetime of happy memories.

Jenny is survived by her sons and their wives - Chris and Charlotte, Rod and Danielle, Reg and Brenda, and Rick and Rachelle - and eight beloved grandchildren: Jim (Kim), Jeff (Angie), Derek (Shannon), Alana (Kass), Theresa (Bob), Tamara (Jeff), Kendra (Brendan), and Keenen. She also had the joy of being great-grandmother to Liam, Carter, and Brooklyn, and aunt and great-aunt to a close-knit extended family. She also leaves behind her loving companion Ed Finch, and a large group of devoted friends.

Many of Jenny's family and friends were waiting to welcome her into Heaven. Two spouses went before her; her husband of forty-six years, Atte Ahlskog, and Walter White, with whom she spent happy years later in life. She is now reunited with her parents, Fred and Polly Syhlak, her five siblings, and many other relatives and friends that she held close in her heart. It is a blessing to know that there were as many people who cared for her in the next world as in this one, and that she will be surrounded by love until we see her again.

The family welcomes anyone wishing to celebrate Jenny's life to join us at the Wildwood Hall on Friday, April 7th, 2017, at 1:00pm, for a memorial and reception.
