SEMENIUK, George
May 27, 1946 – October 15, 2015
George Semeniuk of Evansburg, AB passed
away suddenly, at his farm, at the age of 69
years. George was born in Styal, AB to Karp
and Natalka (Superinowich) Semeniuk. He
worked as a millwright, and was a member of
Local 1460 for 46 years. George also took
great pride in farming the original family
homestead.
His pastimes included hunting, fishing and
anything that took him outdoors. Each
morning he looked forward to meeting the
guys for coffee at the local coffee shop.
George was never without a good joke to tell
and was always up for a twirl around the
dancefloor, especially a polka. More recently,
George and Mary had enjoyed spending their
winter months in Arizona, where they had
expanded their circle of friends. He will be
sadly missed by his surviving family; loving
wife, Mary; children Greg (Jennifer)
Semeniuk, Steven (Nikki) Semeniuk,
Georgina (Victor) Kostiuk, Tanya (Jackson)
Couterielle, Derek (Jody) Sharp, Russell
(Sandra) Sharp, Cherisse (Dennis) Kovacs;
grandchildren Kleigha, Skye, Kole, Krue,
Jessye, Nathan, Jordan, Anthony, Alivia,
Jozsua, Natalie; siblings Mary Twach, Alex
(Vera) Semeniuk, Elizabeth (Victor)
Kwasnycia; sister-in-law Mary Semeniuk; and
numerous nieces and nephews. George was
predeceased by his parents, brother William
Semeniuk, and sister Jean Dale.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday,
October 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Legion Hall 4823 –
50 Street, Evansburg, AB. Pastor Dwayne
Bartley officiating with interment at
Evansburg Community Cemetery. In lieu of
