It is with great sadness that the family of Dustin Keith Kjelland announces his unexpected passing after a brief battle against many contributing factors, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the age of 42 years. Dustin was surrounded by his loving family upon passing. Dustin ( Dust, Uncle Dust, Rusty) is survived by his parents; the love of his life, Dallas Rushton; his daughter Torria Kjelland; his stepchildren, Brandon Maxwell (Shelby Maxwell), Caitlin Maxwell (Cody McKee), and Talise McLernon (Dylon McLernon); his grandchildren, Kingston McKee and Lenora McKee; his sister, Kristie Poeter (Justin Poeter); along with many extended family and friends.
Dustin was born in Edmonton, AB on January 3, 1980, to Keith and Barb Kjelland. Dustin had a zest for life. He loved life and everyone in it. He had many passions including hockey, fishing and hunting, just to name a few. Dustin was the proud owner and operator of DK Oilfield Maintenance and Construction LTD. He was a natural born leader and took pride in being labeled a Spread Boss. He was one of the best Pipe Fitters around. Yet his proudest moment was on September 20, 2010, the day his daughter was born. He was always willing to lend a hand and many have referred to Dustin as the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. His contagious smile, boisterous laugh and loving presence will be greatly missed. Dustin was a long-time resident of Evansburg, AB where he and Dallas chose to raise their family. Dustin himself was raised between Wildwood, AB and Whitehorse, YT. The Yukon has always and will always hold a special place in Dustin's heart. He created quite the legacy and it will be celebrated as it should.
The family would like to thank you for all your love and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 14, 2022 at the Evansburg Arena at 1:00 p.m. with a Dinner to follow at 5:00 p.m. at the Kjelland Farm in Wildwood.
~ We ask all friends, family and co-workers to join us in celebrating the beautiful life of our dearly loved Dustin. We will be remembering him in a way that was perfectly him. We will join together inside the Evansburg arena walls for his service. After the service we will then travel to the Kjelland Family Farm. There we can share the many stories of the greatest man to have lived. Where will enjoy each others company while a fire roars and a pig roasts and we will to the man we all loved. Please bring your camping chairs with you to the farm.
Please also wear your DK Oilfield swag or Oilers Jerseys and Drive Your Work Rigs In Honour of Dustin.
