Douglas Arnold Burke
January 4th, 1947 – October 6th, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Burke from The Good Samaritan Society in Evansburg AB., at the age of 74.
Douglas is survived by his son Clayton Burke of Barrhead AB., brothers Bryan Burke of Entwistle AB., Leslie Burke of Evansburg AB., James Burke (Lynn) of Spruce Grove AB., sister Lynette Nienaber (Lorne) of Evansburg AB. Niece’s Carla Burke, Tricia Burke and April Burke and nephew Benjamin Semenyna.
Douglas was predeceased by son Cory Burke, father and mother Angus and Adelaide Burke, nephew Scott Burke and sister Lloy Semenyna (Richard).
Douglas was born in Camrose AB., and lived in beautiful Kananaskis Country, Drayton Valley, Rocky Rapids, Entwistle and attended high school in Evansburg AB.
Doug served in the Navy at the age of 18 and had many stories of his world travels. He attended commercial flight school but found his calling as an LPN. The staff at the Good Samaritan Society shared stories of Doug’s caring nature, always willing to lend a hand or offer help.
Doug enjoyed the freedom of his Yamaha Virago motorcycle and enjoyed working out and staying fit.
The family would like to thank Dr. Murphy and the staff at The Good Samaritan Society for the loving care and attention they gave to Douglas. Their dedication, kindness and professionalism are an asset to our community.
No funeral will be held, Douglas will be laid to rest at the Wildwood Cemetery at a later date.
