After a courageous battle with multiple cancers, the Lord took Cliff home on Sunday night, July 28, 2024.
Clifford Stewart Taylor was born in Michel-Natal BC on July 14, 1947 to Morris and Helen Taylor. He moved to Alberta as an infant and grew up in Foremost, AB, then moved to Coaldale, AB as a teenager and began his adult years in Edmonton, AB. Cliff started his lifelong Sales Career with Kresge’s in Edmonton, but quickly transitioned to the Building/Roofing industry where he worked until retirement. Cliff’s career took him from one end of the country to the other, Tsawwassen BC to Montreal QC, Regina SK, Edmonton AB, Calgary AB, Strathmore AB, Stony Plain AB. Cliff spent his retirement years in Morinville, AB.
Cliff was a true sportsman. He had a lifetime love of baseball, playing competitive baseball at a very young age and continuing to play well into his young adulthood; ‘retiring’ to coach his son’s baseball team for a few years. He continued to cheer and support friends’ and families’ children in their love of the game. Cliff enjoyed curling, golfing, and motorcycling – especially relishing many memorable bike trips with his “old coots on scoots”. Cliff easily made friends wherever he went, and many of them remained lifelong friends.
Family was important to Cliff. He was a devoted son, a caring and supportive brother, a “one of a kind” dad; he always took the time in his busy life to connect with aunts, uncles and cousins wherever he went. Cliff always had a smile on his face – in good times and adversity. He was always positive and pleasant with whatever circumstances and people he encountered.
Cliff will be forever missed by his loving wife Loyola and her family, his son Wade, daughters Tanis and Kerrie and their mother Marilyn, his grandson Matthew Toner, his brother Art (Dawn), his sister Catherine Olsen (Steve), cherished nieces and nephews, his special friend Don and numerous relatives and friends.
Cliff requested no service.
“When the sun goes below the horizon, it is not set; the heavens glow for a full hour after its departure. When a great and good man sets, the sky of his world is luminous long after he is out of sight. Such a man cannot die out of this world; when he goes, he leaves behind much of himself.” -Beecher
