It is with sadness and loving memories that we announce the passing of Bertil Kenneth (Ken) Carlstrom, at the age of 90 in Evansburg on February 24, 2024.
Ken was a lifetime resident of Wildwood, Alberta, who fondly recalled all his youthful adventures in lumber camps from near the Jasper Park gate all the way north to Wood Buffalo; to his days as a planer man traveling the area for work. He loved exploring, camping, and traveling. One of his favourite destinations was the accordion festival in Kimberley, BC. In his later years he loved to experiment in the kitchen and could be found whipping up a batch of waffles for Sunday brunch with his loving companion Eleanor Nero.
He was predeceased by his parents Olga and Haarold, sisters Lil and Linda, and nephew Ed. He is survived by his nephew Scott Borthwick, and nieces April Lambertus, Robin Rolston and Christine Johanneson. He will be missed.
As Ken was not fond of winter, we will be having a small memorial at a later (warmer) date.
