Roger Desrosiers

Roger Joseph Desrosiers passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones after a long and brave battle with brain cancer.

Born December 24th, 1981 in Peace River, Alberta to George and Fabienne Desrosiers, Roger was raised mainly in Mayerthorpe, AB with his two siblings Robert and Renée. Roger established deep roots in the small Albertan Hamlet, finishing school, achieving his journeymanship in Heavy Duty Mechanics, building a successful career, having his two boys and growing his family even more after marrying the love of his life, Annamarie. He was the best dad to Troy, Nolan, Logan and Sophia.

Roger was strong willed and stubborn, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous and loyal in a real tough love kind of way. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences: he could fix or build pretty much anything - or at least he had an opinion of the best way to do so.

He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, a little humor and was unapologetically himself to the very end.

He is predeceased by his Mémère Eliane and Pépère Charles, his Grandpapa Yvan and Father-in-law Dale.

He is survived by his wife Annamarie, their 4 children; Troy, Nolan, Logan and Sophia. His grandmaman Rose-Aline, parents George and Fabienne, brother Robert (Naomi), sister Renée (Jamie), Mother-in-law Evelyn, sisters-in-law Crystal (Matthew), Tiffany (Jordan) and his nieces and nephews Courtney, Kiana, Austin, Sawyer, Memphis, Autumn, Harmony, Kenna and Lainey. He adored his nieces and nephews, and was an amazing uncle.

Family is Rogers legacy, and though too many to list, he loved and was loved by all deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 30th, 2024 at 1pm at Anselmo Hall. A reception and potluck dinner to follow.

All are welcome to bring their favorite card games, drinks, and a dish to join the family to celebrate Roger and remember the wonderful man he was.
